Colaiste Muire is an All Irish School for Boys and Girls.  The Colaiste has an excellent tradition of learning and its students obtain a very high academic standard, this, combined with a friendly co-operative atmosphere, makes us rightly proud of the high standard obtained by our students.  It may be worth a visit before you decide on your child's future.

• Small class size ensures that students receive greater personal attention and guidance.  Extra help and tuition is given to students, particularly those who are starting education through Irish.
• Colaiste Mhuire's rural setting makes it a safe environment for the students who remain under supervision on the school premises for the duration of the school day.   The continuing hard work of a dedicated teaching staff has resulted in maintaining the traditionally ver high academic standard.

Results

In the past 3 years we have seen a continuing high number of students qualify for 3rd level places.  In 1995 - 80%; in 1996 - 73% and in 1997 - 83% of the 1997 Leaving Certificate students qualified for third level places.  Following in the footsteps of distinguished former students, some choose Primary School Teaching as their career.  Others opt for a variety of careers including: radiography, Occupational Therapy, Computers, Electronics, Business & Social Studies, Optics, Hotel Management, Nursing, Medicine, Carpentry, Electronics and Plumbing.

Facilities

The college is set in scenic surroundings with exceptional sporting facilities.  These include two football pitches, an all weather pitch, tennis and basketball courts, unihock indoor court and rounders.  Our indoor facilities consist of snooker, table-tennis, library, refectory, computers, mechanical-drawing and woodwork rooms.
